Another New Biome Is Coming To Minecraft This Fall
Mojang announced during Minecraft Live that a new biome called the Dappled Forest will be coming to Minecraft this fall. The biome is described as a cozy forest environment featuring red, green, and yellow coloring. This announcement comes ahead of the next major update, Chaos Cubed, which launches on June 16.
The Dappled Forest biome will introduce several new features to the game. Players will encounter new Poplar trees and corresponding Poplar wood blocks for construction. Additionally, the biome will house new structures called Abandoned Camps—essentially the ruins of past explorers’ settlements. These camps contain chests filled with loot that players can discover and collect.
While Mojang provided limited details in the announcement, the Dappled Forest appears to follow the established pattern of Minecraft biome updates that bring environmental variety, new building materials, and exploration-based rewards to players. The new structures and trees will give players fresh reasons to explore and build within this biome.
The announcement was made during Minecraft Live, the game’s annual broadcast event where Mojang typically reveals upcoming features and updates. The fall release window suggests this biome will arrive as part of a future update following the near-term Chaos Cubed release.
