“Prime competition for MacBook Neo”: Dell’s new XPS 13 starts at $599, and it has a few features that Apple lacks
Dell has unveiled its new XPS 13 (model DX13260) at Computex 2026, marking the highly anticipated return of the ultrabook after the company’s brief and ultimately unsuccessful attempt to rebrand away from the iconic XPS name. The XPS 13 has anchored Dell’s ultrabook lineup since its introduction in 2012, establishing itself as a cornerstone product line over more than a decade. The previous iteration, launched in 2024, featured Qualcomm Snapdragon X chips and represented a continuation of the line’s evolution. Priced from $599, the new XPS 13 is being positioned as a direct competitor to Apple’s MacBook Neo and reportedly includes several features that Apple’s offering lacks, giving Dell a competitive advantage in the ultrabook market. Dell’s strategic reestablishment of the XPS brand comes shortly after the company publicly acknowledged its rebranding decision as a critical mistake at CES 2026. At that same event, Dell also unveiled comprehensively redesigned XPS 14 and XPS 16 models. This timing marks a significant moment in the PC market as Dell moves decisively to reclaim prominence with its flagship ultrabook line.
