Round Up: Minecraft Live (May 2026) - Chaos Cubed Drop, New Biome, Minecraft Dungeons II And More

Minecraft Live, held at Twitchcon Rotterdam in May 2026, brought significant announcements for the iconic sandbox game and its expanding universe. The centerpiece was the official reveal of the Chaos Cubed update, set to launch on June 16, 2026.

The Chaos Cubed update introduces Sulfur Cubes, a new passive mob that inhabits sulfur caves, where they spend their time jumping aimlessly until fed blocks. These creatures will consume a variety of blocks, either when directly fed to them or when blocks are dropped in their vicinity. The update also introduces a new Sulfur Cave biome featuring geysers.

Beyond Chaos Cubed, Mojang previewed additional content in development, highlighted by the Dappled Forest, a new autumn-inspired biome. The preview also showcased Poplar wood, wool stairs, wool slabs, and mysterious Abandoned Camp structures for players to discover.

The event extended beyond mainline Minecraft, with announcements for Minecraft Dungeons 2 and the upcoming Minecraft movie sequel, signaling continued expansion of the Minecraft franchise across gaming and entertainment mediums.
