Push Your PS5 Pro to the Limit with PSSR2 Update for F1 25’s New DLC
Codemasters is enhancing F1 25 with improved visual technology for the PS5 Pro ahead of the game’s 2026 Season Update, scheduled for release on June 3rd. The upcoming DLC pack will incorporate native PSSR2 (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution 2) support, Sony’s advanced upscaling technology, which will deliver noticeably sharper image quality and improved performance across the racing simulator.
According to Technical Producer Si Lumb on the PS Blog, players should notice the sharper image immediately when launching the game after the update. The PSSR2 support will benefit all three of F1 25’s graphics modes: Quality mode, which runs at 60fps with ray tracing enabled; Performance mode, which reaches 120fps on compatible displays such as Sony’s new 27-inch PlayStation monitor; and Resolution mode, which targets crisp 8K visuals for compatible setups.
This update represents Codemasters’ continued optimization efforts for the PS5 Pro, which has already demonstrated the console’s enhanced capabilities when running F1 25. By integrating PSSR2 technology natively, the developer is leveraging the latest advancements in PlayStation’s image upscaling to maximize visual fidelity without sacrificing the framerate targets that competitive racing simulation demands.
