PS5’s First Ever Official Speakers Promise ‘Lifelike Audio in a Portable Form Factor’
Sony is introducing the Pulse Elevate, its first official wireless speakers designed for PlayStation. The speakers are part of Sony’s broader expansion of PS5 accessories, joining the recently announced FlexStrike arcade stick and a new 27-inch PlayStation monitor.
The Pulse Elevate features planar magnetic drivers that promise to reproduce sound with “near-perfect accuracy along the entire audible spectrum,” delivering lifelike audio in a portable form factor. The speakers connect via PlayStation Link connectivity technology, which provides lossless audio transmission with ultra-low latency, ensuring synchronized audio during gameplay without perceptible delay.
While Sony has not announced pricing or an exact release date, the company confirmed the Pulse Elevate will launch later in 2026. The speakers are scheduled to arrive after the 27-inch PlayStation monitor, which launches on August 27th, suggesting a September or October release window.
This move represents Sony’s strategic investment in expanding its first-party accessories ecosystem, offering PS5 players premium audio options for enhanced gaming experiences. By manufacturing official speakers with premium audio technology specifically tailored for gaming, Sony is positioning itself to capture players who prioritize audio quality and immersion alongside visual performance.
