Monopoly Go Is Crossing Over With The Simpsons For A Battle Of The Billionaires
Monopoly Go is hosting a major crossover event with The Simpsons, running from June 3 through July 29. The partnership with Scopely brings iconic Springfield locations to the game with Monopoly-themed makeovers, along with the entire Simpsons family and the series’ memorable antagonist, Mr. Burns.
The crossover features new Simpsons-themed episodes released every two weeks, written by The Simpsons’ creative team. Each episode includes collectible stickers and introduces Springfield-specific gameplay mechanics such as runs, heists, and shutdowns. The event is filled with hidden details, deep-cut references, and Easter eggs designed to appeal to longtime fans of the animated series.
Gameplay innovations include the ability to bribe Chief Wiggum to escape jail early, adding thematic flavor to the crossover. The centerpiece is an animated short created by The Simpsons team that pits Mr. Burns—voiced by Harry Shearer—against Mr. Monopoly, performed by Will Ferrell, in a “battle of the billionaires.” This crossover represents a significant promotional push for Monopoly Go, leveraging The Simpsons’ cultural legacy and 35+ year fanbase to drive engagement with the mobile game.
