Sony confirms new hardware releases for 2026, including FlexStrike

Sony has announced new hardware for 2026, headlined by the FlexStrike, a wireless fight stick developed in-house. The FlexStrike will launch on August 6, 2026—the same day as the PlayStation-published fighting game Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls. The fight stick is priced at $199.99 ($179.99 GBP / €199.99 EUR), positioning it competitively within the fight stick market. Pre-orders open June 12, 2026 at 10AM ET.

The FlexStrike is initially compatible with PlayStation 5, with PC support rolling out after launch. The accessory includes a sling carry case and features a built-in rechargeable battery. Sony developed it in-house with a focus on quality and usability for both competitive and casual fighting game players.

Sony’s 2026 hardware roadmap extends beyond the fight stick to include a new 27-inch PlayStation gaming monitor with a built-in DualSense charging dock and Pulse Elevate speakers, scheduled for later release in 2026. These announcements arrive as the PS5 enters mid-cycle maturity—Sony has increased PS5 prices in recent years while the PlayStation 6 remains years away from launch.

The FlexStrike announcement underscores Sony’s strategic focus on peripherals and accessories for its existing platform rather than next-generation console hardware. The coordinated launch timing with Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls indicates Sony is actively targeting fighting game enthusiasts with the device.
