Lara Croft actress Sophie Turner hints at a long future ahead for Amazon’s Tomb Raider series

Sophie Turner, the actress portraying Lara Croft in Amazon’s Tomb Raider television series, has expressed confidence about the show’s long-term prospects despite Amazon not officially announcing a second season. Turner, who rose to prominence at age 13 with her lead role in Game of Thrones, credits her experience on that landmark series with providing valuable groundwork for her current role.

In an interview with The Telegraph, Turner revealed that Tomb Raider is her primary professional focus. She has demonstrated serious commitment to the character through intensive physical preparation, beginning training in February 2025 with a demanding regimen of eight hours of daily workouts, five days per week.

While Turner’s optimism about multiple seasons suggests confidence in the project’s viability, the lack of official renewal from Amazon leaves the show’s future technically unconfirmed. Her substantial investment in physical training and her public statements indicate that both she and potentially the production team are preparing for an extended run.
