SGF 2026 schedule: All Summer Game Fest event dates and times
Summer Game Fest 2026 kicks off this month alongside major platform showcases and numerous independent gaming events. The annual event features prominent presentations from PlayStation and Xbox, including the PlayStation State of Play and Xbox Games Showcase, along with various smaller showcases such as Day of the Devs, Wholesome Direct, and the Future Games Show.
With E3 now defunct, these multiple events have filled the void left by the industry’s traditional centerpiece conference. Without a single centralized gathering, publishers and platform holders have created a busy week of announcements and reveals spread across various presentations.
Nintendo has not yet announced a June 2026 Direct presentation, though industry observers expect the company may announce one later in the month given limited visibility into its second-half plans. This follows the company’s pattern in recent years of sometimes scheduling its presentations slightly outside the main Summer Game Fest window.
The gaming industry faces headwinds as these events take place. Console and hardware manufacturers across all three major platforms have announced significant price increases, while PC handheld makers have also raised costs. These announcements create a challenging backdrop for the industry to showcase upcoming titles to consumers.
The schedule is also shaped by the November 19th launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, which will dominate the year’s final months and influence when competing studios choose to release their games.
