Don’t Have a Switch 2 To Play Star Fox? Try This Upcoming PS5 And Xbox Game Instead
Wild Blue Skies is an upcoming rail-shooter game that will appeal to fans of the classic Star Fox franchise. Developed by Chuhai Labs and published by Balor Games, the game will launch on August 13 across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
The game is being positioned as an alternative for players who don’t have access to a Nintendo Switch 2, where the Star Fox remake is exclusive. Wild Blue Skies shares the rail-shooter gameplay mechanics that define the Star Fox series, presenting on-rails flight missions across various alien planets.
The game features anthropomorphic animal protagonists, staying true to Star Fox’s character design philosophy. Players assume the role of Bowie Stray, a dog piloting missions alongside the Blue Bombers team. Their objective is to defeat Grimclaw, the game’s antagonist that serves a similar role to Andross from Star Fox.
Each level presents unique obstacles and gameplay gimmicks that players must navigate during the on-rails sequences. The game was officially announced with its release date during The Mix Summer Game Showcase event.
