CLUTCH – Official Reveal Trailer

Maverick Games, a new UK-based studio founded by veteran developers from the Forza Horizon series, has officially revealed its debut title, Clutch—a narrative-driven, open-world racing game launching in Spring 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

The studio is led by Mike Brown, the creative director of Forza Horizon 5, and has been developing Clutch for over three years using a custom version of Unreal Engine 5. The game’s story is written by Jamie Brittain, co-creator of the British television series Skins.

Clutch centers on a pair of sibling racing prodigies navigating two parallel worlds: the prestigious R1K racing series, representing legitimate motorsport competition, and the Midnight Collective, an underground street-racing community. The game blends traditional circuit racing with action-packed street racing, police pursuits, and chase sequences, drawing inspiration from franchises like Need for Speed and Grand Theft Auto alongside Forza Horizon’s open-world design.

Gameplay features a living world with PvPvE elements that determine crew power dynamics throughout the campaign. Players can equip gadget-infused vehicle modifications reminiscent of spy-thriller aesthetics and engage in deeper vehicle customization than previous Forza Horizon titles. The full gameplay reveal is scheduled for Summer Game Fest on June 5. Development continues independently following the termination of Amazon’s publishing deal with the studio earlier in 2026.
