Mym’s Sword is a delightfully ominous Zelda-style action platformer with magic rings and knife-wielding raccoons

Mym’s Sword is an indie action platformer inspired by The Legend of Zelda, where players control Nora, a blue dog who has fallen through a cavern roof into a mysterious temple. The game features an ominous atmosphere as players embark on a quest to awaken Mym, an ancient evil presence, “for better or worse.”

The core gameplay revolves around exploring three interconnected ruins spread across five distinct areas, comprising approximately 300 individual single-screen rooms. Players must unlock the secrets of a magical sword while navigating these twisty dungeons.

A unique mechanic involves magic rings that provide various boosts to the player, such as increasing the likelihood of obtaining health-restoring hearts. However, due to the protagonist being a paw-less canine, players must first collect “helper’s hands” before they can equip these magic rings—a peculiar and atmospheric design choice that reinforces the game’s delightfully ominous tone.

The game is currently available as a playable demo, allowing interested players to experience the game’s Zelda-inspired mechanics and distinctive visual style firsthand.
