New PlayStation Plus Games Announced During State Of Play Include Rare PS2 Rhythm Cult Classic

PlayStation revealed new games for the PlayStation Plus subscription tiers during State of Play 2026, with particular attention to the Classic Catalog additions arriving on PS Plus Premium. The announcement coincides with the first full month following PlayStation’s recent price increases across all subscription tiers.

Sony confirmed three classic PlayStation 2 games joining PS Plus Premium on a monthly schedule. Gitaroo Man, an acclaimed 2001 rhythm game developed by iNiS, launches on June 16th, 2026. The game has been highly sought-after by collectors for decades—it was released in limited quantities in Western markets, causing original PS2 copies to command high prices on the secondary market. Gitaroo Man is praised for its distinctive visual style, original soundtrack, and storytelling, featuring an ordinary schoolboy who transforms into the titular Gitaroo Man to battle enemies through musical encounters.

Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy arrives on July 28th, 2026, followed by Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams on August 25th, 2026, establishing Sony’s pattern of releasing one classic title monthly for Premium subscribers.

In addition to the Classic Catalog updates, the Game Catalog for PS Plus Extra and Premium members will receive new titles, including Destiny 2: The Legacy Collection for June 2026 and RuneScape Dragonwilds.

The expanded Classic Catalog represents an effort in game preservation, bringing historically rare and inaccessible titles to modern players through the subscription service.
