Silent Hill: Townfall has a PS5 release date, and things are getting scary in very foggy Scotland this September

Konami has announced that Silent Hill: Townfall will release on PlayStation 5 on September 24, 2026, with PC versions also coming. The announcement was made during PlayStation State of Play.

Developed by Scottish studio Screen Burn (formerly No Code), Silent Hill: Townfall marks a significant departure for the franchise. Unlike most entries in the series, the game features a first-person perspective—the first premium Silent Hill title to do so. The game is not set in the town of Silent Hill itself, but rather in a fog-shrouded Scottish fishing village called St. Amelia, inspired by the real village of St Monans in Fife.

The story follows Simon Ordell, who is called back to the island to “put things right.” As he ventures deeper into the abandoned-yet-restless town, he discovers fragments of a mysterious past while uncovering his connection to the place and its inhabitants.

Gameplay combines stealth, puzzle-solving, and combat, with players using environmental items like bottles to distract monsters and avoid direct confrontation. The approach has drawn comparisons to Resident Evil 7’s genre-defining perspective shift. Screen Burn, known for titles like Stories Untold and Observation, brings its acclaimed storytelling to the franchise.

The game has received an M rating from the ESRB for blood, violence, and strong language. With Townfall following successful recent entries like Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake and Neobards’ Silent Hill f, it represents another opportunity for the franchise to expand beyond traditional Silent Hill settings.
