Control Resonant Has 48 Hours Early Access, But Only On PS5
Remedy Entertainment’s Control Resonant will feature PS5-exclusive early access when it releases on September 24, 2026, across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Players who purchase the $70 Digital Deluxe Edition on PS5 will gain 48 hours of early access, allowing them to start playing on September 22, while all other players must wait until September 24.
The exclusive early access is tied to a PlayStation marketing agreement, as confirmed by Remedy executive Thomas Puha. Notably, the Digital Deluxe Edition carries the same $70 price tag on Xbox Series X|S and costs even more in the UK, yet Xbox and PC users receive no early access despite paying the same amount. This pricing discrepancy has generated frustration among some fans who see no added value for the premium price.
Beyond early access timing, PS5 players receive additional exclusive content with the Digital Deluxe Edition: the Occult outfit. Both platforms’ Digital Deluxe editions include the Hiss Corruption outfit and Pickpocket’s Tool artifact. Pre-orders for all versions became available following the announcement during the PlayStation State of Play presentation on June 2, 2026.
The early access exclusivity reflects broader industry trends of platform-specific marketing deals, though the decision has proven controversial given that Xbox players face identical pricing without corresponding benefits.
