Cooler Master is stuffing its latest cases with truly humongous fans for high airflow and quiet operation
Cooler Master has announced new PC cases designed for enhanced cooling performance and reduced noise levels. The HAF II 500, part of Cooler Master’s High Air Flow lineup, features two oversized 220mm front fans—branded as “Mighty40” fans—paired with a 180mm exhaust fan. All fans use Liquid Crystal Polymer construction, described as among the thickest available, enabling them to maintain high airflow while operating at lower speeds to minimize acoustic output.
The case architecture prioritizes airflow efficiency, with a front design that minimizes resistance to fan operation. Additionally, Cooler Master is preparing the Silencio 600, a complementary case model specifically optimized for quiet operation while maintaining effective airflow circulation.
The combination of larger-diameter fans operating at lower RPMs represents a practical approach to the ongoing challenge of cooling high-performance PC components while reducing fan noise—a common concern for enthusiast and professional workstation users. The use of thicker fan blades allows for maintaining cooling capacity without the noise typically associated with higher-speed fan operation.
