Dune Awakening is coming to consoles at long last, but for some reason, it will not have crossplay

Dune Awakening, the survival MMO, is finally coming to consoles. The game will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on September 22, 2026, as announced during Sony’s State of Play livestream. This console release marks the first time PlayStation players have had access to the game.

The most anticipated feature for this launch is a dedicated single-player mode, which has been one of the most requested features since the game’s original PC launch. The console version is being positioned as “the best version of Dune Awakening yet,” incorporating the single-player experience alongside the existing multiplayer content.

For Xbox players, the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on day one, or available for separate purchase at £39.99 / $49.99. Game Pass subscribers receive a 20% discount on the standalone purchase price.

However, despite the multi-platform expansion, the console version will notably lack crossplay between most platforms, limiting player interaction across PlayStation and Xbox.
