Esports Nations Cup Confirms 88 Dota 2 Rosters

The Esports Foundation has announced 88 Dota 2 rosters from various nations competing in the Esports Nations Cup, though only 32 national teams will qualify for the main tournament. The competition features a $1.5 million prize pool and a multi-stage qualification process.

Team selection occurs through three pathways: 16 direct invitations will be awarded to teams based on a scoring system derived from players’ recent competitive performance, with the final points deadline set for June 7. Following the invitational round, 14 additional teams will earn spots through regional online qualifiers. The remaining two qualifying positions will be distributed via the Esports Nations Cup Wildcards system, completing the 32-team roster for the main event.

This qualification structure mirrors the format of other Esports Nations Cup events and aims to balance both established top-performing teams with emerging competitive rosters from the regional qualifying stages. The tournament represents a significant competitive opportunity for Dota 2 teams worldwide, with the combination of direct invites and open qualification paths providing multiple avenues for nations to secure spots in the championship.
