Magic: The Gathering reveals Fin Fang Foom for Marvel Super Heroes
Magic: The Gathering’s upcoming Marvel Super Heroes set will feature both iconic and obscure Marvel characters, with Fin Fang Foom among the niche inclusions announced so far. The set will include recognizable heroes like Spider-Man, Captain America, the Avengers, and the X-Men alongside lesser-known characters that appeal to dedicated fans of Marvel Comics.
According to Aaron Mesburne, senior narrative game designer at Wizards of the Coast, introducing players to these stranger and more obscure Marvel characters is a deliberate goal for the collaboration. The company aims to spotlight fan-favorite niche characters while maintaining the appeal of well-known superheroes. As part of this strategy, Wizards has committed to including at least one “dragon” character in each Marvel set released under the partnership.
The Marvel Super Heroes set represents the latest installment in an ongoing multi-year collaboration between Wizards of the Coast and Marvel. This partnership previously produced a Spider-Man-themed set in 2025, with an unconfirmed number of additional sets planned for future releases. The expansion of the collaboration suggests Magic’s creative team is leveraging Marvel’s vast character roster to appeal to both longtime Magic players and fans new to the collectible card game.
