Sony Confirms PS2 Games Coming to the PlayStation Plus Classics Catalog Over the Next Few Months
Sony announced during a State of Play event that it will be bringing three classic PlayStation 2 games to the PlayStation Plus Premium tier over the coming months. The releases will be staggered throughout the summer and early fall of 2026, marking an expansion of the service’s retro gaming offerings.
The three PS2 classics joining the service are Gitaroo Man (arriving June 16, 2026), a beloved cult-classic rhythm game originally released in 2001 by Koei and iN; Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy (July 28); and Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams (August 25). These titles represent continued efforts to expand PlayStation Plus Premium’s retro gaming library with acclaimed games from the PS2 era.
In addition to the classic releases, Sony announced that Jagex’s RuneScape: Dragonwilds will launch as a day-one title on PlayStation Plus’s Game Catalog in fall 2026, available to both Premium and Extra tier subscribers. This marks the first console appearance for the RuneScape franchise, significantly expanding the popular MMORPG’s platform reach.
The announced additions signal Sony’s ongoing commitment to game preservation and expanding the value proposition of its subscription service. By making these classic titles accessible to subscribers, Sony aims to serve both longtime fans and new players discovering these titles for the first time.
