Wooting’s big knob is much more than a volume dial, set to arrive later this year for 80 HE
Wooting has announced that its Lekker Knob large, an advanced programmable control dial for the 80 HE analogue gaming keyboard, is on track to release later this year. Initially revealed at Computex 2025, the new knob replaces the standard navigation key cluster positioned above the arrow keys.
While the knob can function as a standard volume dial, its capabilities extend significantly beyond basic audio control. According to Wooting’s lead software engineer Simon Whyte, the Lekker Knob large offers extensive customization through Wootility, Wooting’s dedicated software suite.
The knob supports four primary programming modes. Relative mode allows actions to trigger based on the direction and speed of rotation, making it ideal for controls that respond to incremental changes. Absolute mode sets the dial to fixed values at specific positions, enabling precise point-based controls. Additional modes expand the knob’s versatility for gaming and productivity applications.
This flexibility allows users to map the knob to various in-game functions beyond volume—such as scroll wheels, radial menus, or game-specific controls—depending on their preferences and game requirements. The programmable knob positions itself as a significant enhancement for the 80 HE keyboard, catering to both gaming and professional use cases. Release is targeted for later in 2026.
