Asia and MENA games market revenue predicted to grow 16.5% to over $103bn by 2030

According to data from Niko Partners, the gaming markets across Asia and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) are experiencing substantial growth. The combined region generated $88.9 billion in gaming revenue during 2025 and is projected to reach $103.6 billion by 2028, representing significant expansion in one of the world’s largest gaming markets.

The analysis covers 13 distinct markets: China, India, East Asia (Japan and South Korea), Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam), and MENA countries (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates). The forecast is based on comprehensive research conducted by Niko Partners, which surveyed more than 11,000 players across these regions in March 2026.

India represents a particularly noteworthy growth story, having surpassed 500 million players in 2025. The country’s gaming market is expected to exceed $1.8 billion in revenue by 2030, reflecting the region’s expanding middle class and increasing smartphone penetration. This growth trajectory underscores the strategic importance of the Asia-MENA region to the global gaming industry.

The projected growth rate of approximately 16.5% from 2025 to 2028 highlights the region’s rapid development and consumer demand for gaming content across various platforms. As emerging economies in Southeast Asia and the Middle East continue to develop digital infrastructure and expand internet access, the gaming market is positioned to capture an increasingly large share of consumer entertainment spending. This expansion reflects both the growing popularity of mobile gaming and the rising adoption of console and PC gaming in these markets.
