Horizon Steel Frontiers MMO Release Set for 2027
NCSoft has announced that Horizon Steel Frontiers, its upcoming live-service MMORPG set in Guerrilla’s post-apocalyptic Horizon universe, will launch in the first half of 2027. The delay pushes back what originally appeared to be an imminent release, disappointing players who may have anticipated a 2026 launch.
The game is being developed for PC and mobile platforms, with the latter utilizing NCSoft’s proprietary Purple emulator. While the exact launch window—whether it applies to Korea specifically or global markets—remains unclear, industry observers expect the game to debut in Asia first before rolling out worldwide pending its reception.
Originally announced in November 2025, Horizon Steel Frontiers has been in development for several years. NCSoft revealed the delay during its latest investor relations presentation without providing specific reasons, simply moving the title to their updated game pipeline alongside other projects including Lineage Classics, Limit Zero Breakers, and Cinder City.
The company emphasized that Horizon Steel Frontiers should not be confused with Horizon Hunters Gathering, a separate tactical co-op game coming to PS5 and PC.
