007 First Light Reveals Road Map; Story DLC, New Game+, and More Coming Soon
IO Interactive has unveiled an extensive first-year post-launch roadmap for 007 First Light, promising continued support for the recently launched James Bond adventure. The announcement was made at Summer Game Fest, just two weeks after the game’s initial release.
The centerpiece of Year One support is a new story mission centered on Bawma, the pirate king character played by Lenny Kravitz. In the base game, Bawma appeared only briefly, so the DLC will provide an opportunity to explore his story further. Players will return to Aleph, the criminal haven where Bawma rules, where the king has personally requested Bond’s assistance. While details about the mission’s specifics remain scarce, it’s likely tied to Bawma’s search for his sister, Harmony. The mission appears to be free, though IO Interactive hasn’t officially confirmed its pricing model.
Beyond the story DLC, the Year One roadmap includes several substantial additions: a Photo Mode, New Game+ functionality, new TacSim challenges for players seeking additional tactical gameplay, and a new gadget called the G2 Glasses. The roadmap description also hints at additional unspecified updates to come throughout the year.
The announcement suggests IO Interactive is committed to long-term support for 007 First Light, with the “Year One” designation implying that development plans may extend beyond the first twelve months. This approach mirrors modern live-service standards, ensuring the game will receive regular content updates to maintain player engagement beyond its launch window.
