Here’s our best look yet at Alien: Isolation 2 as one of the greatest horror games ever prepares to return

After 12 years since the original’s 2014 release, Alien: Isolation 2 has been officially revealed at Summer Game Fest 2026. Creative Assembly and Sega have provided the first substantive look at the highly anticipated sequel through an atmospheric teaser trailer that emphasizes horror themes and setting rather than concrete gameplay details.

The sequel maintains the core survival horror experience that defined the original, featuring a first-person perspective and a deadly game of cat-and-mouse against the xenomorph. A significant setting shift moves the action from the space stations of the original to a remote, storm-ravaged colony world. Players will navigate both the desolate planet’s surface and the claustrophobic Weyland-Yutani outpost of Kurosaki Station, described as “a new hunting ground for the ultimate apex predator.”

The game introduces a brand-new protagonist and story while preserving the franchise’s signature atmosphere of tension and dread. Players will develop new tools, techniques, and tactics to survive against the unkillable xenomorph threat, with early footage emphasizing moody aesthetics including crashed ships, thick fog, and heavy atmospheric elements that capture the essence of the original’s success.

Alien: Isolation 2 has been confirmed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2, with wishlisting available across all platforms. No official release date or window has been announced, though the move toward public availability suggests the game is advancing toward launch.
