Netease action stunner Blood Message gets gorgeous cinematic trailer at Summer Game Fest
Netease announced a new cinematic trailer for Blood Message, its upcoming action-adventure game, at Summer Game Fest. The visually impressive trailer showcases the game’s story through its protagonist’s perspective, featuring action sequences and elaborate set pieces, though it deliberately avoids major story revelations.
The game is set during the late Tang Dynasty in 848 AD and follows a nameless messenger who embarks on a dangerous eastward journey to deliver a crucial message that will determine his homeland’s fate. Accompanied by his son, the protagonist must survive relentless enemy encounters while navigating a richly detailed historical setting that incorporates authentic customs, culture, and history of the era.
Blood Message is being developed by the team behind Naraka Bladepoint. The game was first revealed in June 2024 with an equally impressive trailer. While no official release date has been announced, Netease confirmed that hands-on previews would begin immediately following the Summer Game Fest announcement, offering press and selected attendees the opportunity to experience the single-player story firsthand. The game is confirmed for PlayStation 5.
