Hot Wheels Infinite Rush announced at Summer Game Fest, launching later this year

Hot Wheels Infinite Rush has been officially announced at Summer Game Fest 2026. The arcade racing game, developed by Milestone (creators of the Hot Wheels Unleashed series), marks the return of the Hot Wheels franchise to gaming after a three-year gap since Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged in 2023.

The game will launch on September 24, 2026, priced at $49.99 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). It represents a new direction for the series by embracing an open-world structure spread across four themed islands, contrasting with the more linear approach of previous titles.

Players will have access to over 150 vehicles across four different classes, including licensed Ferrari cars. The game emphasizes customization and creativity, featuring wheel and livery editors allowing players to personalize their vehicles. Notably, the track editor returns with a new twist—integrated into the open-world environment, allowing players to create and share custom race tracks with friends.

Multiplayer is a core feature, supporting up to four players in split-screen mode alongside full cross-play functionality. The game offers multiple play modes including traditional races, free-roam exploration, and various activities across its four islands.

Designed with a younger audience in mind, Infinite Rush maintains the signature Hot Wheels aesthetic with exaggerated scenery, loop-de-loops, and dramatic jumps characteristic of the toy car brand. This move into open-world racing positions Hot Wheels to compete with other arcade racing titles while following industry trends.
