Hugh Jackman’s new Logan replacement officially releases in 2 weeks

Hugh Jackman is set to take on a new legendary role in The Death of Robin Hood, arriving in theaters on June 19, 2026. Directed by Michael Sarnoski (Pig, A Quiet Place: Day One) and distributed by A24, the film sees Jackman shifting from his iconic portrayal of Logan/Wolverine to tackle the outlaw hero Robin Hood.

The project marks another opportunity for Jackman to explore an aging, past-his-prime version of a legendary character. His 2017 performance as the weary, disillusioned Wolverine in James Mangold’s Logan demonstrated his ability to bring depth to aging heroes grappling with mortality and regret. The Death of Robin Hood appears to follow a similar thematic trajectory, with A24’s description noting the protagonist “grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder.”

With Sarnoski—known for his character-driven work across indie and mainstream projects—at the helm, the film signals an auteur approach to the classic folklore character.
