Believe or not, this co-op and PvP zombie shooter is ‘inspired by true events’

Last Harbor is a co-op and PvP zombie shooter that places players on a stranded boat during a zombie outbreak, where fellow players present as much danger as the undead. Developed and published by tinyBuild, the game was unveiled at Summer Games Fest and combines fishing mechanics with survival shooter gameplay.

According to tinyBuild, Last Harbor is inspired by true events from the COVID-19 lockdown of 2020, when people spent time stranded on a boat. While the zombie outbreak is fictional, the game channels the real isolation and tension of that experience into a multiplayer survival experience. The integration of peaceful fishing elements with intense PvP combat creates a distinctive gameplay contrast that sets it apart from traditional zombie shooters.

The game’s dual-threat design requires players to balance cooperation against zombie hordes while navigating potential threats from other survivors. This creates tension not only from environmental dangers but also from the unpredictability of human opponents, making social dynamics as critical as combat mechanics in determining survival.
