The Wolf Among Us 2 finally arrives next year, a decade after it was announced, but a remaster of the acclaimed original is coming first

After a turbulent decade of development marked by studio closure and resurrection, Telltale Games has finally confirmed that The Wolf Among Us 2 will launch in 2027. The sequel, based on Bill Willingham’s Fables comic series, was originally announced in 2019 following Telltale’s revival after shutting down in 2018. The project has endured multiple delays and periods of uncertainty, but remains on track for release across PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and Xbox platforms.

To bridge the wait until 2027, Telltale announced at Summer Game Fest 2026 that a remastered version of the acclaimed original 2013 game will arrive during the 2026 holiday season. While specific details about the remaster remain limited, it is expected to feature enhanced visuals and improved performance, bringing the classic Fabletown adventure to a new generation of players.

The Wolf Among Us 2 returns players to the shadowy streets of Fabletown, where fairytale characters hide among humans in modern-day New York. The sequel continues the story following the original game’s events, with protagonist Bigby Wolf, the sheriff of Fabletown, drawn into a dangerous conspiracy as tensions rise among the city’s underworld. The game is being developed by PM Studios in collaboration with Telltale, produced alongside DC Vertigo and Warner Bros.

For fans who have waited nearly a decade for news of a sequel, the 2027 window finally provides concrete confirmation that the project is moving forward.
