Hitman: Absolution Switch 2 Upgrade Pack Confirmed For This Summer
Hitman: Absolution is confirmed to be coming to Nintendo Switch 2, with Feral Interactive handling the port. The release date has been narrowed down to summer 2026, giving fans a specific timeframe for when they can play the stealth-action title on Nintendo’s newest hardware.
The native Switch 2 upgrade pack will bring the game to the new platform with optimizations for the hardware. Additionally, Feral Interactive has announced that the Contracts mode, previously announced for the Switch version, will be coming to the Switch 2 iteration via a free update arriving very soon after launch. This mode allows players to set custom challenges and compete with friends over high scores, adding replayability to the experience.
Hitman: Absolution has long been considered the “black sheep” of the Hitman franchise, primarily due to its emphasis on cinematic storytelling and narrative-driven gameplay rather than the player freedom and sandbox design the series is traditionally known for. Despite this distinction, the game has maintained a dedicated following, and the port to Switch 2 will introduce it to new players on Nintendo’s hybrid hardware.
The Switch version of Hitman: Absolution previously received a respectable 7 out of 10 rating, with reviewers describing it as “a decent port” that successfully translates the game to a more portable format, though with the inherent technical compromises that come with porting a console title to handheld hardware.
The summer 2026 release window positions Hitman: Absolution as a notable port during the Switch 2’s first year on the market, joining other third-party titles coming to the new platform.
