Studio behind Martha is Dead, the game too extreme for PlayStation, debuts gameplay from its psychological serial killer horror When Sirens Fall Silent
LKA, the developer behind the acclaimed The Town of Light (2016) and the controversial Martha is Dead (2024), has unveiled gameplay for its upcoming psychological thriller When Sirens Fall Silent. The game is scheduled to release on PC in 2027.
Set in Italy during the early 1990s, When Sirens Fall Silent follows Mila, a rookie police officer who becomes embroiled in a high-profile investigation into a brutal serial killer known as “The Man.” As the investigation progresses, the game blends detective work with psychological horror elements, with reality beginning to fracture as the case spirals deeper into violence.
The game emphasizes investigative gameplay centered around crime scene examination, witness interviews, and character interactions. Players will engage in branching dialogue sequences that affect the investigation’s direction. Director Luca Dalcò is returning to lead the project, continuing LKA’s focus on narrative-driven horror experiences set in Italian locations.
While Martha is Dead drew controversy for its mature content, When Sirens Fall Silent appears to continue the studio’s commitment to psychologically complex storytelling. The shift from Martha is Dead’s World War II setting to an early-90s detective thriller represents a new thematic direction while maintaining the studio’s signature blend of horror and investigative gameplay.
