Marvel 1943: Rise Of Hydra Delayed To 2027, Exec Explains Why It’s Taking So Long
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, a long-anticipated action game, has been delayed from its originally planned 2026 release window to 2027. The delay was announced by Shawn Kittelsen, a senior executive at Paramount Games Studio, in an interview with IGN.
Kittelsen confirmed that the game is genuine and actively in development, noting that it currently exists on his hard drive. However, he explained that the extended development timeline is driven by the creative ambitions of producer Amy Hennig and her team, who are committed to achieving high standards of quality.
Despite being a relatively small development team, Hennig’s studio is producing AAA-quality content with substantially fewer resources than is typical for games of this caliber. Kittelsen emphasized that the team’s focus on quality over rushing to meet an earlier deadline justifies the delay. The footage previously shown to the public accurately represents the game’s current state, according to the executive.
The announcement addresses months of silence surrounding the project, which had raised questions about the game’s viability and status within the newly formed Paramount Games Studio structure.
