Vampire Survivors spin-offs are ‘Survivatons,’ its creator has decided, and another will be revealed soon

Vampire Survivors creator Luca Galante has announced a new term for the game’s spin-offs: “Survivatons,” short for “survive-a-ton.” Galante introduced the terminology at the Future Games Show, discussing the studio’s plans to expand the Vampire Survivors franchise beyond the original game.

According to Galante, the success of Vampire Crawlers—an existing spin-off that has performed well—motivated the decision to create additional Survivaton titles. These spin-offs will maintain the core Vampire Survivors experience while introducing distinct variations, such as different metagames or gameplay features that wouldn’t fit within the original game’s design. Galante described the term “Survivaton” as “stupid,” though it appears to be the official branding the creator has settled on for these expanded universe titles.

The announcement teased that the first new Survivaton will be revealed “very soon,” though specific details about its mechanics or release timeline were not disclosed in the presentation.

Additionally, a new DLC pack for the original Vampire Survivors titled “Legacy of the Blood Moon” is in development, indicating continued support for the base game alongside the new spin-off titles.
