Beast of Reincarnation has some stellar voice actors, but one has to play protagonist Emma completely devoid of emotion

Game Freak’s upcoming action RPG Beast of Reincarnation is set to launch on August 4. The game features a stellar cast of voice actors, though one performer faces a unique challenge: bringing protagonist Emma to life while maintaining the character’s complete emotional detachment. According to game director Kota Furushima, capturing the nuance of voicing a character devoid of emotion proves to be more difficult than initially expected.

The game’s story centers on a world devastated by the Blight, a corruption stemming from the titular Beast of Reincarnation itself. This malignance spreads throughout the environment, corrupting all living things including plants and presumably animals and humans. The premise establishes a dark fantasy world where players will battle against the consequences of this supernatural plague while following Emma’s journey through the corrupted landscape.

The game was showcased at The PC Gaming Show, where developers provided the media with an extended look at gameplay and story details. The presentation highlighted both the ambitious scope of the action RPG and the careful attention to character performance that Game Freak has invested in the project’s voice cast. With its August launch approaching, the game is positioning itself as a significant release for action RPG fans.
