Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse Gets October 2026 Release Date

Konami has announced that Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse will launch on October 15, 2026, marking the first new entry in the storied franchise in over a decade. The announcement came during the June 2026 Xbox Showcase, revealing a release date just in time for Halloween.

The game was first unveiled during Sony’s PlayStation State of Play presentation in February 2026 as part of celebrations for Castlevania’s 40th anniversary—the franchise originally debuted in 1986 on the Famicom Disk System before arriving in North America on the NES in 1987.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC on October 15. A Nintendo Switch version is also confirmed for 2026, though Konami has not yet provided a specific release date or pre-order details, likely to be revealed during an anticipated Nintendo Direct presentation.

The game is being developed by Evil Empire, the studio behind the acclaimed Dead Cells, and features a Metroidvania-style experience with 2D action gameplay. The announcement trailer showcased stunning key art by renowned illustrator Katsuya Terada, highlighting the dark gothic aesthetic the franchise is known for. This marks a significant moment for the franchise, which has remained dormant in terms of new mainline releases since 2014.
