We’ve just got a new look at ’the sequel to the award winning strategy game’, Duskers 2.0, which promises higher stakes and a more emotive story
Duskers 2.0, the sequel to Misfits Attic’s award-winning real-time tactics roguelite Duskers, has been officially revealed at The PC Gaming Show. Coming 10 years after the original’s release, the sequel aims to build upon the first game’s foundation by adding greater narrative purpose and emotional depth.
In the original Duskers, players controlled drones to explore derelict spaceships, scavenging for resources while unraveling mysteries about the state of the universe. The sequel maintains this core gameplay but expands the scope significantly. Players will continue to command drones via command-line interface through abandoned spacecraft, but with a new overarching goal: establishing colonies to give survivors of a doomed universe a second chance.
The game will feature discovering survivors frozen in cryostasis and piecing together their individual stories. A key design philosophy emphasizes permanence—nothing players do is forgotten, with each playthrough contributing to the development of new colonies. This approach promises higher stakes and a more emotive narrative experience compared to the original title.
Duskers 2.0 is planned for release on Steam via early access at an unspecified future date. The sequel represents a meaningful evolution of the original’s mechanics, focusing on both strategic gameplay and storytelling to create a more engaging experience.
