Fallout 76’s new action-packed Infestations update looks like chaotic fun for the Xbox RPG — and right now, you get a free week of Fallout 1st and daily rewards
Bethesda has revealed Infestations, the latest major update for Fallout 76, showcased at the Xbox Games Showcase 2026. The action-packed update continues the developer’s ongoing support for the long-running multiplayer RPG, which has maintained a thriving community since its 2018 launch across Xbox, PC, and PlayStation platforms.
Fallout 76 remains one of Microsoft’s most successful evergreen titles, with over 60 free content updates delivered throughout its lifecycle. Each update has introduced new stories, quests, locations, enemies, and gear to the post-apocalyptic world of Appalachia. The Infestations update marks the 68th major content release for the game.
To celebrate the new update’s launch, Bethesda is offering promotional incentives including a free week of Fallout 1st—the game’s premium subscription service—and daily login rewards. These offerings aim to attract both veteran players and newcomers to experience the chaotic new infestation-themed content.
The announcement underscores Fallout 76’s enduring vitality in the live-service gaming space, where consistent content updates and community engagement remain essential for long-term player retention.
