Xbox Games Showcase 2026 live report - all the news and announcements as Asha Sharma presents for the first time

Microsoft’s Xbox Games Showcase 2026, held June 7 during Summer Game Fest weekend, showcased the company’s gaming lineup as Xbox marks its 25th anniversary. The roughly two-hour event featured over two dozen games and arrived during a transitional period under new leadership.

Major announcements included release dates for Halo: Campaign Evolved (July 28), Gears of War: E-Day (October 6), and Fable (February 23, 2027). Additional titles revealed included Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, Persona 6, State of Decay 3, a new Spyro game, Metro 2039, and Vivarium. Microsoft also revealed a limited-edition Xbox Series X25 console celebrating the brand’s anniversary.

The showcase signaled Microsoft’s partial return to an exclusives strategy. Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution were announced as Xbox console exclusives, marking a departure from recent multiplatform releases. However, messaging remained mixed—other major first-party titles including Fable and Halo: Campaign Evolved will still launch on PlayStation 5 alongside PC and Xbox platforms. The event concluded with a first look at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s DMZ mode.

Most announced games will be available on Xbox Game Pass, underscoring Microsoft’s subscription-first approach. The showcase featured announcements from Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda, and Activision Blizzard.
