Xbox Fans Go Wild As Asha Sharma Gives Free Consoles To Everyone At FanFest LA
At Xbox Games Showcase 2026, Xbox announced the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition console and surprised attendees at Xbox FanFest LA with free giveaways. Xbox executive Asha Sharma, in her first Xbox Games Showcase, revealed that everyone at the event wearing a “fan” badge on their credentials would receive one of the new consoles at no cost.
The Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition features a striking translucent “OG Green” chassis, a design directly inspired by the aesthetic of the original 2001 Xbox console. The transparent green color pays homage to the classic hardware that launched the Xbox brand a quarter-century ago, delivering the aesthetic that fans have been requesting for years.
The limited edition console is part of Xbox’s broader “Back to Xbox” celebration commemorating 25 years since the platform’s debut. While attendees at FanFest LA received their consoles as a special surprise, the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition will not officially release to the general public until November 2026. Those who received free units at the event will have to wait until the official launch date to actually receive their hardware.
The giveaway drew an enthusiastic reaction from the assembled Xbox community, with fans celebrating both the surprise gift and the nostalgic design of the new limited edition console. This marks a significant moment in Xbox’s anniversary celebrations and serves as a major incentive for fan engagement at the company’s marquee gaming event.
