Two Classic Call of Duty: Black Ops Games Seem Poised for PS5

Two classic Call of Duty titles are poised for release on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010) and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (2012) appear to be coming to Sony’s current-generation platforms, based on recent evidence discovered by the gaming community.

The news arrives after both games were rated for release in Korea over a month ago—a detail that initially went largely unnoticed. More recent developments have strengthened the case for an imminent launch. Patches for both titles were discovered on Sony’s servers earlier today, and PlayStation Game Size was able to extract official logos from the PS Store, suggesting the games are effectively ready for release.

The ports are expected to feature campaign modes only, following a similar approach to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered, which released on PS4 several years ago. This means multiplayer functionality would not be included in these releases.

Given these indicators—Korean regulatory approval, server-side patches, and extracted store assets—an announcement or release could come at any moment, with speculation suggesting it might happen as soon as tomorrow, particularly following Nintendo Direct announcements.
