Doom: The Dark Ages expanding with Revelations DLC in July, plus a free Ripatorium update adding to the game’s customisable arena mode

Bethesda Softworks and id Software have officially announced Revelations, a major DLC expansion for Doom: The Dark Ages, launching on July 7th. The paid expansion will cost $19.99 USD / £17.99 for players without the Premium Edition, which included early DLC access from the game’s release. Details were revealed through the Slayers Club blog post during the Xbox Games Showcase announcement.

Alongside the Revelations DLC, developers are releasing Ripatorium 3.0, a substantial free update expanding the game’s customizable arena mode. Both releases will deploy simultaneously on July 7th. The free Ripatorium update ensures all players, regardless of DLC purchase, receive new features and customization options for the arena experience.

These announcements confirm ongoing post-launch content support for Doom: The Dark Ages. The combination of paid expansion content and free feature updates reflects the game’s long-term development strategy and live-service roadmap. The tiered monetization approach—with the Premium Edition providing early access and separate DLC availability—allows both new and existing players to access additional content based on their preferences.
