Paramount says Yellowstone and Sheridan-verse video games are on the table
Paramount announced the formation of Paramount Games Studio during Summer Game Fest on Friday, marking the company’s official entry into video game development. The new division will create games based on major franchises from Paramount’s extensive portfolio, with Yellowstone and properties from the Sheridan-verse specifically mentioned as possibilities for future adaptation.
Parallel to this announcement, Paramount Games Studio unveiled a strategic partnership with PlatinumGames, the acclaimed Japanese developer known for the Bayonetta action franchise. Their collaboration will produce an adaptation of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, which has been confirmed as an action game. According to the initial trailer, the game is set in a grim, dystopian version of New York City, though specific details regarding gameplay, release window, and platform availability have not yet been disclosed.
This move positions Paramount among major entertainment conglomerates expanding into gaming. With franchises spanning television, film, and animation, Paramount possesses a substantial intellectual property library ripe for interactive media adaptation, suggesting this could be the beginning of multiple gaming initiatives.
