Sea Of Stars’ Final Update And Switch 2 Version Arrive Today
Sea of Stars, the acclaimed 2023 turn-based RPG from Sabotage Studio, is receiving its final update today with the release of the Sunset Edition, concluding seven years of development and support for the title.
The Sunset Edition introduces a new cinematic opening cutscene featuring the story of the past Solstice Warriors, which the developer describes as its “biggest budget” cutscene to date. The update also includes balance adjustments to Normal and Hard difficulty modes and new key art from artist Bryce Kho.
A Switch 2 version of Sea of Stars launches today on the Nintendo eShop, featuring GameShare functionality for three-player cooperative play. The Switch 2 port is available as a free upgrade to all existing Nintendo Switch owners, with full save data compatibility ensuring players can seamlessly transfer their progress to the new hardware.
The Sunset Edition is simultaneously released on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. Sabotage Studio has also announced a physical collector’s edition in collaboration with iam8bit, though specific release details remain to be confirmed.
With development on Sea of Stars concluded, Sabotage Studio is focusing on future projects, including an internally codenamed title called Project Sparrow, though the team indicates it is too early to share public information about the upcoming work.
