Bonus PS Plus Extra Game Available to Download Now
Bungie has ended active content support for Destiny 2, marking the conclusion of the live-service shooter’s development cycle. To ensure player access to the game and its expansions, the studio has compiled the Destiny 2: Legacy Collection and made it available on PlayStation Plus Extra starting today.
The Legacy Collection, based on a 2025 version, bundles the base game with the majority of Destiny 2’s expansions and seasonal content accumulated throughout the title’s decade-long lifespan. Players with PlayStation Plus Extra membership can now download and access the collection at no additional cost, providing a comprehensive snapshot of the game at the end of its service life.
This initiative reflects growing industry practices around game preservation for live-service titles. Rather than allowing access to fragment across individual purchases and licensing issues, publishers are increasingly archiving complete versions of major games on subscription services as support concludes. The move makes Destiny 2’s extensive content library more accessible to a broader audience, particularly those who may have joined after the game’s initial 2014 launch or lapsed players seeking to experience the full journey.
