Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD Remaster gets a dedicated Switch 2 port next month, but there’s a catch
Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on July 23, 2026, with pre-orders opening today for £44.99 / €49.99. The announcement was made ahead of a Nintendo Direct presentation.
The Switch 2 version will include all the features from previous ports of the remaster, including remade visuals, a remastered score, and high-speed mode. Graphics are expected to appear sharper on the Switch 2’s more powerful hardware compared to the original Switch version released in 2019.
The collection brings both PS2 classics—2001’s Final Fantasy X and 2003’s Final Fantasy X-2—to Square Enix’s newest platform. The remaster has been released across multiple systems since 2013, including PS3/Vita, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The two games combined offer over 100 hours of gameplay. However, Switch 1 owners will need to purchase the new version separately rather than receiving a free upgrade.
