Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave crams itself into an already packed-out September 2026 on Switch 2
Nintendo has announced that Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave will launch exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 17, 2026. The news was revealed during a Nintendo Direct presentation. A Special Edition titled the Dagdan Collection will release alongside the standard edition, featuring bonus items.
The game marks the latest entry in Nintendo’s long-running tactical RPG series, following 2023’s Fire Emblem: Engage on Switch. Fortune’s Weave retains the franchise’s signature turn-based tactical gameplay and features a unique narrative structure centered around a grand competition.
The story is set around an enormous arena hosting the Heroic Games, a championship where players can choose from four different main characters, each with their own motivations and storyline. Winners of the games are granted a single wish, driving each character’s personal narrative. The four playable heroes include Kai, a young boy seeking to save his father; Dietrich, a mysterious swordsman searching for strong opponents; and Theodora, a queen pursuing an unspecified goal.
The release arrives during an unusually crowded September 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, arriving alongside numerous other major titles.
