Rollcage Successor Grip Returns With Sequel, Grip XR
Developer Caged Element has announced Grip XR, a sequel to Grip: Combat Racing and spiritual successor to the classic Rollcage series. The studio has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the project.
Grip XR is a high-speed combat racer featuring distinctive big-wheeled, flippable vehicles capable of driving on both sides simultaneously. The game emphasizes extreme velocity, with cars reaching speeds exceeding 1000km/h while navigating complex tracks against opponents armed with weapons. The development team emphasizes the game’s unique driving mechanics that set it apart from traditional racing titles, though these remain easy to pick up for new players.
A playable demo for Grip XR is currently available for download on Steam, allowing potential backers to experience the game’s mechanics before pledging to the Kickstarter campaign.
