One Piece Grand Gourmet management sim announced

Kairosoft has announced One Piece Grand Gourmet, a new management simulation game that shifts focus to the culinary aspects of the beloved manga and anime series. Rather than following Luffy’s adventures across the seas, this title centers on the kitchen operations of the Straw Hat Pirates, with the crew’s chef Sanji taking a leading role in the gameplay. The game will release on October 23 for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.

The management sim will feature over 400 characters from the One Piece franchise, all rendered in Kairosoft’s characteristic pixelated art style. Players will encounter familiar faces including the notorious Buggy the Clown and many more series staples. Core gameplay involves deploying crew members to hunt for ingredients and managing the kitchen to serve customers, with the added mechanic of using Devil Fruit abilities to enhance meal quality and appeal. This concept effectively taps into one of the series’ distinctive elements—the detailed, appetizing presentation of food that has captivated audiences throughout One Piece’s long run.

The announcement represents an interesting licensing expansion for the One Piece IP, bringing the franchise into the management simulation genre where Kairosoft has established a notable presence. The focus on culinary gameplay rather than action reflects the series’ surprising emphasis on food preparation and consumption as character and world-building elements.
