Onimusha: Way of the Sword is slashing its way to the Nintendo Switch 2
Capcom has announced Onimusha: Way of the Sword for Nintendo Switch 2, expanding the action franchise to the hybrid console. The game was revealed during a Nintendo Direct presentation and is now available for pre-order, with a confirmed release date of September 25th, 2026.
The portable version appears to be performing well on the Switch 2 hardware based on the presentation footage shown. While PlayStation users received a free demo during Sony’s recent State of Play event, no equivalent demo has been announced for the Switch 2 version at this time.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword represents a new entry in Capcom’s beloved action franchise. The game is part of a multi-platform release, also coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series consoles. The announcement brings this high-profile action title to Nintendo’s latest hardware, potentially introducing the franchise to players who primarily use the Switch platform.
